This Webinar will provide you the latest information on the Office of the Inspector General’s (OIG) 2013 work plans and reports to ensure that your hospice operations can stand up to scrutiny from the federal level. Faculty will discuss various OIG reports affecting hospice providers including the Prescription Drug Benefit under Part D, hospice in the nursing home and hospice in the GIP (general in-patient) unit. In addition, you will learn about the authority and reach of the OIG, what it means then the OIG comes to your state and what NHPCO resources are available to support you and your team.

- Identify NHPCO resources to support hospice and palliative care providers.
Faculty

Rachel Hold-Weiss, RPA-C, JD
Rachel is a Partner at Arent Fox in the Healthcare Group. Rachel represents non-profit and for profit institutional healthcare providers, primarily hospices, home health agencies, skilled nursing facilities and assisted living facilities, as well as DME suppliers, physicians and physician groups in health care regulatory, transactional and litigation matters. The representations include matters pertaining to federal and state audits and investigations, fraud and abuse, anti-kickback, self-referral, corporate practice of medicine, certificate of need, facility and medical professional licensing matters, Medicare and Medicaid survey and reimbursement issues, contract disputes, corporate compliance and healthcare privacy. Rachel is a nationally certified physician assistant licensed to practice in the State of New York. Prior to joining Arent Fox, Rachel worked as a physician assistant in both hospital and outpatient settings.
Judi Lund Person, MPH
Judi Lund Person has been the Vice President of Compliance and Regulatory Leadership for the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization since July 2002. Prior to joining the team at NHPCO, she served for 22 years as the President and CEO of The Carolinas Center for Hospice and End of Life Care. A recognized national leader in the field of hospice and end of life care, Judi works with local hospice providers and state hospice organizations on regulatory issues, compliance, data collection and strategic planning. She lends her regulatory expertise as a key contact with CMS, interfacing with payment policy, survey and certification and program integrity functions, among others. She also represents hospice and palliative care with other federal agencies and many national organizations, including the FDA, the Pain Care Forum, the National Consensus Project for Quality Palliative Care and the Hospice and Palliative Care Coalition. She graduated with honors with a BA degree in Sociology from the UNC at Greensboro and a Masters degree in Public Health from the UNC at Chapel Hill.
Nurse: NHPCO is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
