Patient Safety for Homecare provides an overview of current issues and regulations related to patient safety. The role and responsibilities of health care leaders in promoting and assuring safe, quality patient care is also discussed.

Objectives:

• Discuss events and mandates driving current patient safety initiatives.
• Define patient safety.
• Define medical errors and adverse events.
• Explain home care staff's role in reporting adverse medical device related incidents.
• Identify the steps necessary to achieve desired patient safety goals in home care.
• Identify strategies that organizations can practice to promote and build a culture of patient safety

In order to complete this online course, the participant must view the entire course, correctly answer all case studies and quiz questions and complete the evaluation. No CE/CME is offered for this course.
