The second in a series of ten pediatric palliative care modules, Pediatric Palliative Care Delivery Models describe various delivery models for the provision of pediatric palliative care and hospice to children with life-threatening conditions and their families.

In this module, core services and delivery modalities are discussed, and a variety of settings that can house pediatric palliative care services are highlighted. The module addresses barriers to care and provides a wealth of references and resources to overcome those barriers. Specific examples of programs, services and innovative organizational partnerships are provided to help your organization develop or expand pediatric palliative care and hospice services and improve access in your community.

Objectives:

• Discuss specific barriers to pediatric palliative care
• Differentiate among various models of care
• Identify diverse settings in which models of pediatric palliative care can be implemented and delivered
• Design a model of care incorporating the components/standards discussed
