Although suicide is a very difficult topic to cover, this course provides the clinician with assistance in identifying the warning signs of suicidal ideation in the elderly. In addition, risk behaviors, common myths regarding suicidal behavior and strategies for crisis intervention are covered. Statistics show that suicide rates in the elderly are increasing annually, thus the need for clinicians to have this important information.
