Center for Children Few things are as challenging as when infants and children face life-threatening conditions. NHPCO is committed to making the best-known practices in pediatric hospice and palliative care more available to care providers in collaboration with the Children’s Project on Palliative/Hospice Services (ChiPPS), NHPCO’s pediatric leadership council.

Center for Grief and Bereavement Grief permeates the end-of-life experience, so attention to the unique needs of the bereaved is paramount. This Center works to bridge bereavement research and practice, and ensure that the highest quality of bereavement care is provided to adults, children and families.

Center for Leadership Development The focus of this Center is ensuring that all hospice and palliative care professionals have the expertise needed to ensure exceptional care at the end of life for patients and families. NHPCO’s leadership programs, fellowship(s), professional development and educational events/activities are created and provided through this Center’s work.

Center for Spiritual Care Facing one’s own death raises profound questions of meaning, purpose. A Gallup Poll revealed that Americans want to reclaim and reassert the spiritual dimension in dying. This Center highlights the essential need for spiritual care and provides tools and resources for hospices and faith leaders.

Center for Veterans' Care One out of every four dying Americans is a Veteran and each deserves compassionate care at the end of life. Hospices can recognize Veterans’ unique needs and guide them and their families towards a more peaceful ending. NHPCO works with hospices across the nation through We Honor Veterans, to improve care for Veterans and their families.
