Mary Jo Vetter DNP, RN, AGPCNP-BC
Mary Jo Vetter is an experienced administrator and board certified Adult / Geriatric Primary Care Nurse Practitioner with extensive experience in the delivery and management of home-based primary care and chronic illness management.
In her former role as VP for Product Development at the Visiting Nurse Service of New York, she led a department focused on innovative, evidence based models of care well suited to risk based contracting. In that role, she was responsible for the ongoing operation of the captive medical Professional Corporation that delivered new products, and managed a team responsible for the creation, deployment, clinical and business oversight of products that provided:
- Palliative care
- Advanced care management
- Transitional care
- Behavioral primary health care
Previously, she served as the Director of Nurse Managed Primary Health Care Centers caring for families in underserved urban settings.
Dr. Vetter has a long-standing professional interest in increasing access to care for vulnerable populations. She maintains an active clinical practice as a primary care provider, conducting house calls to community dwelling elderly and disabled to facilitate improved health outcomes and aging in place. She is a recognized expert who has consulted locally and internationally to promote the advanced practice nursing role.
In addition to her current role as an Associate Consultant for NHPCO Edge, Dr. Vetter is a Clinical Associate Faculty member and Director of the Doctor of Nursing Practice Program at New York University Rory Meyers College of Nursing.
