Newsline Denver-Hospice from September 2011 - This article tells the story of one hospice’s successful implementation of the Comfortable Dying Measure and the significant improvements in pain management practice that came about as a result. Please note that the article covers a time period prior to the institution of quality reporting requirements by CMS and consequently the details of measure implementation vary somewhat from the current required measure specifications.  Nevertheless, the experience of The Denver Hospice contains valuable lessons for hospices that have already implemented the Comfortable Dying measure as well as those that are just beginning the implementation process.
