National Data Set (NDS)
The 2015 NDS deadline has been extended to MAY 31!
The National Data Set represents a comprehensive compilation of information on hospice operations, including:
- Who provides care;
- Who receives care;
- The range, cost and quality of hospice services.
NDS summary results provide useful information to hospices for defining strategic goals, setting operational targets, and improving care delivery.

While there is no fee to participate, membership is required to access summary reports.
To begin submitting NDS data, login to the NHPCO DART System using your hospice's NHPCO DART ID and DART Password . If you do not know the DART ID and Password for your hospice, please contact NHPCO Member Services at 1-800-646-6460.
Hospices that are not current members of NHPCO can also submit data. For more information about submitting data as a non-member hospice, please send an email to NDS@nhpco.org.
Data submission is open annually in the spring (dates vary). Once open, you will be able to click on "Enter Data Here" to access online data submission.
Members Only: National Summary Reports are a free benefit of Provider Membership! To access the National Summary Reports click the National Summary Reports link below to log in with your email address and NHPCO password. Interested in NDS data broken out by hospice size and type? National Summary Peer Reports are available for purchase. View a Sample Report. Cost to NDS participants is $150.00; non-participants $300. To purchase the Peer Reports send a request to NDS@nhpco.org.
