Composing Your World

Kai Kight
Classical Violinist Turned Innovator, Composer & Entrepreneur

Why do some people just play notes they are handed while others write new music in the world? In his captivating Opening Plenary, violinist Kai Kight will tackle this question, perform original music and share the inspiring story of how he became an innovative composer in a field of conformity. Kai uses music as a metaphor to inspire individuals and organizations around the world to compose paths of imagination and fulfillment.

How does composing new music relate to hospice and palliative care? Consider this: why do some providers choose to stay “in the hospice box” while others create new opportunities for collaboration and service to their communities? Kai will challenge us to innovate; to create new things rather than be complacent and conform to things as they are.

This session will leave you feeling inspired to take your future into your own hands and bring your unique ideas forward; to become an innovative leader in your community.

Learning Objectives:

Kai Kight

Inspired by his mother who, when diagnosed with cancer, revealed regrets of not bringing her ideas to the world, Kai is on a mission to spark a global mindset shift in which ingenuity is the norm, not the exception. In his emotionally powerful presentations, Kai performs original music and candidly shares stories from his own transformation as an artist, translating these insights into takeaways that audiences can infuse into their own lives and work environments. As a musician, he has performed his original music for audiences around the world, from the White House to the Great Wall of China. As a speaker, he has created impactful experiences for a wide range of audiences internationally, including for clients such as The Walt Disney Company, PricewaterhouseCoopers, and the Super Bowl-winning Seattle Seahawks. His mesmerizing and original violin performance beautifully becomes a sonic metaphor for the core of his message: to inspire people to compose unique ideas in a world that celebrates conformity.
