2021 Virtual Conference: Continuing Education/Continuing Medical Education

This educational activity offers continuing education credit for Nurses and Physicians who attend designated live streaming (live activities) and/or on-demand (enduring material) sessions. A Certificate of Participation is also available for Non-Physician Healthcare Professionals; see below.

The material presented in the education sessions represents the opinions of the faculty and not necessarily the views of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO), the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine (AAHPM), the Hospice and Palliative Nurses Association (HPNA), the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), and the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME).

All planners and faculty are required to disclose to program participants all financial relationships with ineligible companies. A copy of the disclosure information will be available on the conference website prior to the start of the conference.

Continuing education credit is provided at no additional cost to participants who confirm their attendance at specific conference sessions and evaluate those sessions.

Please Note: Credit hours are determined based on individual attendance/participation and may be less than the maximum number offered. In addition, the amount of CE/CME credit available is subject to change.

This chart indicates the maximum number of credit hours available for each type of education session (live/on-demand). The CE/CME credit offered for each session will be indicated on the Virtual Conference website.

Live Session: To receive credit for the live session, participants must participate in the live session, and evaluate it to request CE/CME by September 30, 2021. Certificates will be emailed to participants by October 31, 2021.

Requests for CE/CME credit after this deadline will incur a $50 processing fee. CE/CME credit is NOT available after December 31, 2021.

Nurses: NHPCO is accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

NHPCO designates this live activity for a maximum of 1 contact hour. Nurses should only claim the contact hours commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Physicians: NHPCO is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

NHPCO designates this live activity for a maximum of 1 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Certificate of Participation for Non-physician Healthcare Professionals: For participants* whose disciplines are other than nurse and physician, you may request a Certificate of Participation for Non-physician Healthcare Professionals to submit to your accrediting bodies/licensing boards for continuing education credit. This certificate will indicate the sessions attended that were certified for physician credit (AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s) TM). It is the responsibility of participants to submit the certificates to their accrediting bodies/licensing boards for approval. Unfortunately, NHPCO cannot guarantee its acceptance. To receive this certificate, you must complete all CE/CME requirements and indicate your desire to receive this certificate on the evaluation form.

On-Demand Sessions: To receive credit for an on-demand session, participants must watch the on-demand video, review the references provided, explore the discussion groups, and evaluate it to request CE/CME before September 30, 2021. Certificates will be emailed to participants by October 31, 2021.
