Continuing Education/Continuing Medical Education
The material presented in the education sessions represents the opinions of the faculty and not necessarily the views of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO), the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine (AAHPM), the Hospice and Palliative Nurses Association (HPNA), the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), and the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME).
All planners and faculty are required to disclose to program participants all relevant financial relationships with a commercial interest. A copy of the disclosure information will be available on the conference website prior to the start of the conference.
Continuing education credit is provided at no additional cost to participants who confirm their attendance at specific conference sessions and evaluate those sessions.
Please Note: The maximum number of credit hours offered for each discipline is based on attending qualified sessions. The amount and type of CE/CME credit offered for each individual session is indicated next to the session title on the agenda. Credit hours are determined based on individual attendance and may be less than the maximum number offered. Please contact NHPCO’s Education Department at 703-647-5178 if you have any questions.
Nurses: NHPCO is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
NHPCO designates this live activity for a maximum of 8 contact hours. Nurses should claim only the contact hours commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. Accredited status by ANCC refers only to continuing nursing education and does not imply endorsement of any commercial product discussed in conjunction with this activity.
Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs): In addition to nursing continuing education credit hours offered, attendees may earn a maximum of 2.00 category 1 designated pharmacotherapeutic credit hours (60-min contact hour) towards national NP/CNS certification which includes drug specific information, safe prescribing practices, safe medication administration, prescribing methodologies, and/or new regulations.
Physicians: This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of NHPCO, AAHPM and HPNA. The NHPCO is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Certificate of Participation for Non-physician Healthcare Professionals: Participants* whose disciplines are other than nurse and physician may request a Certificate of Participation for Non-physician Healthcare Professionals to submit to accrediting bodies/licensing boards for continuing education credit. This certificate will indicate the Virtual Conference was certified for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s) TM. It is the responsibility of participants to submit the certificates to their accrediting bodies/licensing boards for approval. Unfortunately, NHPCO cannot guarantee its acceptance. To receive this certificate, you must complete all CE/CME requirements and indicate your desire to receive this certificate on the evaluation form.
