Jonathan Fleece Joins the Keynote Line-Up for NHPCO’s 2019 Interdisciplinary Conference
NHPCO’s annual Interdisciplinary Conference brings members from across the interdisciplinary team together for professional education, networking, and skill development.
(Alexandria, Va) – NHPCO proudly announces that Jonathan Fleece will be the featured keynote on day two of NHPCO’s upcoming 2019 Interdisciplinary Conference, November 4 – 6 at the Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center in Orlando. (Preconference offerings will be held November 2 and 3.)
Many in the field know Fleece through his role as President and CEO of Florida’s Stratum Health System and Tidewell Hospice. However, in addition to his leadership work in the field, Fleece is an engaging speaker, educator, attorney, and advisor. Through a unique program he created, TO BE 4 HEALTH, he has brought health care expertise to boardrooms, conference centers, and retreats to create transformative and healthier companies.
“I have made my life’s work based on one simple equation: Health = Happiness. My commitment to helping people, businesses and communities achieve this goal is steadfast so that individuals, and the organizations they serve, can thrive.,” writes Fleece on his TO BE 4 HEALTH website.
“I am thrilled to join the Interdisciplinary Conference faculty in a way that will allow me to share my unique skills and knowledge about how individuals, health care professionals, businesses and communities can learn what it truly means to be healthy in mind, body, and spirit.”
It is Fleece’s belief that far too many people are discontent, unhealthy and troubled because they are not fostering supportive workplaces, communities or relationships that create maximum engagement or wellbeing. In his keynote, he will help conference attendees learn how they can help themselves and their organizations THINK and DELIVER better models for achieving good health. His experience as a hospice CEO will allow him to address some of the challenging issues unique to those working in the hospice and palliative care community.
“All of us at NHPCO are touched by the fact that Jonathan is donating his keynote speaker’s fee to the Blue Butterfly Bereavement Program that serves young people in the community Tidewell serves,” noted Edo Banach, NHPCO president and CEO. “I think this is a wonderful reflection of Jonathan’s commitment and passion to the work our members do in the community.”
The Tuesday morning keynote session on November 5 will kick off with NHPCO’s presentation of its Volunteers are the Foundation of Hospice Awards which is an annual highlight of NHPCO’s fall conference.
Other IDC19 keynotes are the opening keynote speaker U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen, talking about legislation and advocacy efforts for the hospice and palliative care community, and Wednesday’s keynote will be Derreck Kayongo, Founder of Global Soap Project and the former CEO of Center for Civil and Human Rights, who will talk about harnessing potential for change.
The Interdisciplinary Conference offers a unique blend of keynotes, educational sessions, preconference learning and networking opportunities grounded in the philosophy of the interdisciplinary team. Attendees engage with colleagues from across the country as they learn about new approaches, successful models, and innovations from the field.
