CMS has released Version 2.00 of the HQRP QM User’s Manual.

The User’s Manual has been updated to include the measure specifications for the Hospice and Palliative Care Composite Process Measure: Comprehensive Assessment at Admission (NQF #3235).

The Hospice and Palliative Care Composite Process Measure assesses whether a comprehensive patient assessment is completed at hospice admission by evaluating the number of individual care processes completed upon admission for each hospice patient stay. The data source for this measure are the 7 HIS items.

CMS began calculating the composite measure for hospice providers for patient admissions occurring after April 1, 2017 but has not yet released the date when the Composite Measure will be included in Hospice Compare.

Version 2.00 of the HQRP QM User’s Manual is now available on the Current Measures webpage.

REMINDER: The measure specifications in the QM User’s Manual should be used as the resource for how to calculate raw scores for the HIS measures (not the data collection instructions in the HIS Manual).
