A Look Toward the Future

In January, the board of directors announced that Edo Banach, JD, was selected as the new President and Chief Executive Officer who will be leading NHPCO and its affiliate organizations into the future. On Monday morning, this visionary will share thoughts about the organization and the broader field and will discuss directions and priorities for NHPCO. With some experience under his belt, MLC attendees will hear firsthand insights from NHPCO’s new leader.

Learning Objectives:

  • Describe the top two priorities for NHPCO in the year ahead and how these priorities will impact providers in the field
  • Identify key messages that will be shared with legislators and regulators in 2017 and opportunities for hospice and palliative care professionals to be proactive in advocacy
  • Discuss the strategic value of a collaborative hospice and palliative care community that speaks with one unified voice

Edo Banach, JD

Banach will be joining NHPCO as President and CEO in February 2017. Currently, he is a partner in the firm of Gallagher, Evelius & Jones in Baltimore, MD.  He previously was the Deputy Director of the Medicare-Medicaid Coordination Office at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. Prior to his tenure at CMS, Banach served as Associate General Counsel at the Visiting Nurse Service of New York.  Before joining VNS of NY, Banach was the General Counsel at the Medicare Rights Center.

Banach holds a B.A. from Binghamton University and a J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School. Prior to attending law school Banach worked for the New York City Department of Homeless Services and Mayor's Office of Operations.
