This course will provide an overview of the most common bloodborne pathogens, modes of transmission, exposure reduction practices, protection and safety standards. Bloodborne Pathogens are micro-organisms present in the blood that cause diseases. Examples of bloodborne pathogens include Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C and Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV).
