Leon Panetta was instrumental in getting the Medicare Hospice Benefit legislation passed in 1982 and will share some reflections as we approach the 40th anniversary of the benefit. Sponsored and championed by Representative Panetta and Senator Bob Dole, hospice would not be what it is today without their efforts. The advocacy of these two men have made a difference in the lives of millions of Americans. Secretary Panetta is looking forward to addressing our community.
