  HIS Data Freeze Date is May 15, 2018

  • The freeze date for the Hospice Item Set (HIS) data that will be included in quality measure calculations for the August 2018 Hospice Compare refresh is May 15, 2018. The August refresh will include HIS data from Q4 2016 to Q3 2017 (10/1/16-9/30/17).
  • All HIS records, including modifications/corrections and in-activations need to be submitted and accepted by the Quality Improvement and Evaluation System (QIES) Assessment Submission and Processing (ASAP) system on May 15, 2018 by 11:59:59 p.m. E.D.T. to be captured in the Hospice Provider Preview Report that will be available on June 1, 2018.
  • CMS reminds hospice providers that they need to ensure that records are complete and accurate prior to submission to the QIES ASAP system. CMS has noticed an increase in the number of modifications/corrections and in-activations after the release of the Provider Preview Report, therefore, they encourage providers to review quality measure data often using their CASPER QM Reports and not to wait until the freeze date or when the Provider Preview Reports are released to submit any necessary HIS corrections.

HQRP Quarterly Update document for the First Quarter of 2018 Now Available|

The HQRP Quarterly Update for the first quarter (January–March) of 2018 is now available for download. This document features frequently asked questions that were received by the Hospice Quality Help Desk, as well as on the March 27th, 2018 Hospice Quality Reporting Program Webinar. It also highlights general HQRP updates and events from the first quarter and upcoming events in the second quarter of 2018.
